1. Job industry overview

Search traffic and job site traffic last year showed an upward trend in the summer of May - August. This was also the time when students look for jobs and internships most of the year.

In 2022, data analyst and content creator were the two professions with the highest growth in search volume, with the figures being 63% and 40%, respectively. Two professions were followed by Digital Marketing (36%) and Business Analyst (21%). The diverse interests of different target groups drive them to job sites. Popular target groups include job seekers, students about to graduate and enter the labor market, and people about to leave their jobs.

2. Understanding job seekers

According to the survey, nearly 60% of the respondents who are currently looking for a job said that they are both working and looking for a job. Among them, the most searched type of work is freelance (28.1%), followed by part-time work (19.3%). However, the trend shows that hybrid is the second most popular type of work in recent times for most groups of workers, after freelance.

In the post-COVID-19 period, search volume for freelance and remote is still increasing. This may indicate that the pandemic has had a profound effect on users' concerns about the type of work. Based on experience and qualifications, the job positions sought in the past year also varied. In particular, it is noteworthy that the search for internships has begun to increase strongly compared to previous years.

In 2022, the overall search volume of recruitment sites recorded a growth of 32%. Employees use social networks and recruitment sites, while interns use many social networks and acquaintances. When asked about which channel you came to your current or last job, 14.4% found a job through job boards.

3. Why so many people are looking for new jobs

With the number of job searches increasing in recent years, the most common reason is that workers' jobs are less likely to develop (32.5%), followed by the desire for high salaries and benefits. more (29.4%). However, each age will have certain differences in the reason for leaving. 

The current situation shows that the group of people with low income is the group with a relatively low rate of doing other jobs (less than 20%), this rate increases gradually with income level. Besides, more than 60% of workers intend to look for work other than their main job.

4. Conclusion

The trend of job search remains stable through 2021 and 2022, in which 2022 will record the peak season in the summer months. The need to find a job also differs significantly across age groups and education levels. However, the factors of salary and bonus, welfare regime and working environment are still the basic issues that workers of all age groups are concerned about.
